Jalal Gharbi (1920-2005) was a Tunisian-born artist who spent his formative years between Paris and his native Tunisia. He emigrated to the United States in the 1950's. He studied at L'Ecole National des Arts et Metiers, Academie de la Grande Chaumiere in Paris, and The Art Students League in New York. Over the years he had exhibitions in Europe, North Africa, and the United States including the Diogene Gallery in Paris, Centre Culturel American in Tunisia, and the Carnegie Endowment Building in New York.
