Perlman, pg. 180: "His small bronze animal forms-buffalo, birds, horses-carved in clay and cast through the 1970s, include stylized fetishistic images, highly textured, interpenetrated with voids. Little Buffalo, 1976 ----- are primitively geometric objects, stretched into rigid, angular stances and patterned with deep strokes, serrations and revelatory openings."
