Description
Oval box, c.1780/1800. The panels on cover, sides and base enamel in translucent blue on a ground of wavy scalloped reeded engine-turning creating a moir� aspect. There are gold star�s on top of the blue enamel with hand painted portraits. The lid set central hand painted enamel picture with two men with a dog along with a woman sitting next to a spinning wheel. The wheel is the automata. The watch is set in the middle of the picture. There is glass over the central painting. All along the side and the bottom are more hand painted enameled paintings. 3 in. (76 mm.) wide
