A well-decorated artist who exhibited extensively all over the world, Stefan Arteni is the only non-Japanese artist to earn the highest rank in Japanese calligraphy, the title of Shihan (‘master instructor’), to date. His seal carving is also lauded and has been favorable compared to Qi Baishi’s.
