From Roanoke, Virginia, Dorothy Gillespie's installations often include "polycolored spirals of mylar, aluminum and steel that spring off walls and unfurl down staircases, creating a festival atmosphere." In 2006, the Boca Raton Museum of Art held a solo exhibition featuring Gillespie's work.
