Traditional Hopi hand carved cottonwood Katsina "Hon" doll by Alex Youvella Sr., in traditional costume, holding a rattle painted with a bear paw, with base marker-signed by artist: "Alexander R. Youvella Sr. Hon / White Bear Kachina Medicine Man Hopi, 1st Mesa / Polacca, AZ."

Born in 1973, Alexander Youvella is from First Mesa. He is the great-great grandson of Lela Augah and Preston Talavensi. He is the son of Celestino Youvella (carver). Alexander has been awarded for his carvings since 1992 and in 2005 won the Award of Excellence in Kachina Doll Carving presented at the Southwest Indian Art Fair in Tucson.

Condition
Kachina appears to be missing a feather from top of head, missing feathers from both sides of his
head,otherwise appearing in very good condition
